Default C5 - C6 handling comparison?

How many of you have (or had) or have driven both the C5 and C6 generations? I'm curious about your opinions of the differences between the two in how they handle and feel on the road. Anyone?

Default Pick Me...Pick Me (not very technical)

I've driven both. Now granted our C5 is a 2000 and I know there's been updates in the suspension as the years have past. That being said..
Our '06 C6, which by the way has the Z51 pkg. IMO handles more smoothly on the road than Our C5. I can honestly say (No Brainer) the C5 is a Stiffer ride, and doesn't have the same feel as my C6 when i'm cruising at 55 or a bit Higher. Lets just say...I'd feel more comfortable taking a curve in a C6 at a higher rate of speed than in a C5.
Also, the cockpit is smaller on the drivers side (haven't sat on the passenger side yet), and has less leg room for someone who's 6'4". But the extra leg room in the C6, wouldn't matter to you .
I do like the interior look of our C5 better than our C6 though. I like the seats better, I prefer the stereo knobs vs the push button, and it's just more appealing to me, Also the C5 Vert has more trunk space than the C6 Vert. (a little off topic, I know).
Haven't you driven a C6? If not, I wish i'd have known. I would have let'cha take mine for a spin!!!
IMO.... I love the C5 and the C6. I'd definately have bought a C5 if I hadn't bought the C6 first! If the suspension bothered me enough in the long run, i'd change it out.

Thanks Ray. Yeah, I might have taken you up on that offer. Been looking around for a C6 for Connie. Or maybe a C5 in Spiral Gray, perhaps.

Been looking at a local '05 Coupe in LMB but not sure about that one. Got more scratches in the paint than Connie is comfortable with. If they make the effort to buff them out, MAYBE we'll get it, but not sure they are interested in doing that. Plus the left front spoiler is gone, which means something happened for that to get ripped off.

But we'll see. Not in any hurry..........

Thanks.

Wasn't there a post in here just recently regarding the sale of a C5, for around 20k?

Yeah, it's a Silver '98 C5 with 22k miles on it.

The only C5 Connie wants would have to be spiral gray in color. THAT's the one she really likes.

Odd thing is I have sent emails to a few places that have one (one is in Tarpon Springs), and it's like pulling teeth to even get them to respond. One thing I REFUSE to do is to chase someone to try to get them to take my money.

Oh well.... Like I said, in no hurry, and I expect prices on a lot of them to get more tempting the closer it gets to December 31. Might even bring a new 2007 within reach if I am lucky......

Too old you say I don't think they offered spiral gray until 2002 but i may be wrong.I have not got a chance to drive a c6 but besides ynkedad saying that i have heard this from others that the c6 is a smoother ride.

JUST MY TWO CENTS

I replaced my 2001 C5 coupe with a 2007 C6 coupe recently.
The ride is more refined.
The car seems more dialed into the road at high speed.
The noise level is much lower in the C6, thus a better sound from the radio.
The car is definitatly faster with the standard 400hp.
The six speed auto is a big plus with the paddle shift on the wheel.

On the down side: the sound from the exhaust is way to quiet! To tame!

I know what you mean about the exhaust. I can't figuire out why the vettes C5 and C6 are so quiet. The new GTO's sound much better

I agree. The first thing I did when I bought mine was replace the exhaust.
