Supposedly, this motor will be making 550-600 rwhp without the turbos involved.

As for the cost, well, with all the internal parts and machine work involved, it looks like it cost me around $16K to $17K for the motor. Hmm, seems to me paying that much for a motor, one would expect the intake manifold to bolt right up to it.....

If the LS9 had been 427 cubes, it might have caught my eye. The price wouldn't be that bad if it includes the supercharger. Of course having a supercharged engine being driven by the turbochargers would probably have been an interesting project for Chris to tune.....

Thanks!

That does sound pretty similar, but not sure if he is using World Product heads or not.

Chris told me that the engine is on it's way back to LME, and I understand it will take them two to three days to turn it around once they have it.

The heads the guy has in that thread aren't WP, but they are LS7 heads. The issue is again with one side not bolting up.

Are you sure that's an LS7 Intake Manifold?

Yes, as far as I know. Chris said he even tried a stock LS7 intake and it had the same problem. Seems to me he took measurements just to be certain.

Weird.

Which manifold are you using again? The LSx102?

Yes. It's actually the FAST LSXR 102. Chris put one on a modified LS7 and got some substantial gains from it, so he thought it would be a worthwhile match for my engine.

Well, I guess I'm getting a bit irritated now......

Chris told me he had the engine packed up and delivered to a freight company on Friday (11/04) and I contacted Bryan at LME early this past week to ask him to let me know when it shows up there. A couple of emails to Bryan on 12/09 and 12/11 asking about status on delivery of the engine were not replied to. So where the heck is that motor that I paid $16K for? It's been a week since it shipped, so it SHOULD be at LME by now. In the meantime, Chris has that bay and lift tied up with my car and I'm twiddling my thumbs not knowing what the heck is going on. Connie is leaving for Delaware on Tuesday to visit family and I SHOULD be going with her, but I'm not about to leave and leave this build in limbo for yet another week.

I did talk to Chris a couple of times on Saturday as he tried to find some sort of tracking number on the bill of lading he got when he dropped the engine off. And he mentioned that he thought that LME was just going to redrill those heads to make the manifold bolts work. Now those current holes will be right next to the new holes drilled, and even if they fill in those old holes somehow, how well will those new bolt holes hold? Bear in mind that I will have those turbos putting in at least 15 psi to that intake manifold, so I certainly don't need the manifold tearing loose from the heads because of kluged mounting holes on the heads. Matter of fact, if those bolt holes aren't lining up properly, are the ports themselves in the heads and manifold lining up properly? Maybe it's just me, but would anyone else be a bit perturbed at the thought of spending this kind of money on an engine and then being told the heads were just going to be jury rigged to work with the intake manifold?

Man, I'm trying to be patient and take this all in stride, but it's getting REALLY tough to do. To be sent a very expensive engine that the intake manifold won't even work on just blows my mind....
