Default My first question..........

Guys,
This is my first question for the group since joining a few weeks ago.
I have owned an 04 Z06 for about 6 weeks and twice when I've started the car in the morning, I get a "charging system failure" message. The car starts and runs just fine. Do I have a weak battery?

Talking Battery

Battery is one item to check.
It could be the charging system itself. The alternator could be going bad, or not keeping the battery fully charged. Also it could be a bad ground from the battery. Are both positive and negative connections on the battery nice and tight? I would check the voltage at the alternator and then at the battery. you will have a small voltage drop at the battery but not much. Example would be 14.2 at the alternator and 13. 8 or so at the battery. Take it to an Electrical Shop or Dealership.

I had a similar error code a while back. Turned out to be a corroded/loose connection going to the starter......

Loose connection at the starter is a known C-5 issue. Check it.
