Convertible hatch problem

Hi everyone! I can't get the hatch to release on my 1991 C4. I can hear the solenoids trying to release , but it just isn't happening.: Any suggestions? I need to install a new rag-top and I am at a stand till. Also, is it possible to manually open the hatch?

Try pushing down on it while someone else activates it...
