It will be interesting to see if that guy had any criminal charges filed against him. But there will probably be some sort of disclaimer in the fine print if the people dropping off the car signed any document that will let him slither away.

I want to know where one can get a GPS device like that, that'll send me text if the car moves. That would be AWESOME! Screw lojack! Car's in motion beyond the parking lot, call the police, say it's been stolen, and here's it's location!

Google is my friend, duh. http://www.zoombak.com/products/auto/
Wish the monthly service wasn't so high. That's all I need, one more monthly freakin' bill! I need to create a service with monthly fees...the new get rich quick scheme.

You don't need to spend for a monthly service just note the odometer when you leave your car somewhere. If there are more miles on it than when you left it, then someone has been driving it.

I once worked for a company that had GPS devices installed in our vehicles. You couldn't take a crap without us knowing about it. I was not a fan of them, but they were oh so effective.

Yep just ask the two Pasco Co sheriff's deputies that just got canned for turning off their GPS and going somewhere they were not supposed to be while on duty.

I'm guessing there will come a day when such a device comes standard on all vehicles. For our protection, of course.....

If the GPS devices in our vehicles were incapacitated during use in any way, GPS "support" was immediately dispatched to the last known location of that vehicle. There was one employee who was suspected of using the company vehicle during off hours and weekends, but GPS never picked it up. Seems he took out the GPS unit and kept it under supply voltage in his garage. So, suspecting he was up to no good- you could see the mounting location of the GPS showed signs of tampering, AND recorded logged mileage didn't agree, we installed a second GPS that was very well hidden in that vehicle without him knowing of course. You had to hear him trying to get out that predicament when he was confronted with the ugly truth.
