Default C4 rear end noise

Have a 90 with 45k auto. that has excessive noise when going in and out of gear. All u-joints check good and rear bushings good. How much clunck is normal or is this typical. Thanks for any tips. Dave

Did you check the rear sway bar bushings? Mine where shot and made a horrible noise when I got on the gas fairly good. Other wise you may be looking at rear hubs. You also want to check the bolts to the C-beam and make sure those are snug down properly. I've heard those make a bad clunking sound.
