Default Odd Headlight Issues

Hey guys and gals! Haven't been around in a while, running around like a chicken with my head cut off. Feels like it anyway.

Here's the issue.

I turn on the headlights, the lamps pop up, but the lights don't come on. Switch to high beams and those come on. Switch back, they go out. When I try and turn the lights off, the lamps will not go down. They go up and down as long as the high beams are switched on. The funny part is, I can turn the lights on, the head lamps will pop up, turn them off, the head lamps stay up. Switch to high beams while the lights are turned off, and the lamps go down! Also, if I turn the lights on, then off (the lamps stay up) and get out of the car, there are warning chimes that my lights are on. So I push the high beam switch on, it lowers the lamps, and pull it back to low beams, then get out and the warning chimes go away.

Any ideas? I'm stumped. I was going to at least replace the bulbs to see if it's just the low beams on each light that are out. The rest is kind of odd if that is the solution.

Thanks.

If you're not running an aftermarket HID kit, i would probably look at your mutil-switch going out.

Sounds like the switch on the column to me too........make sure the headlights are ON when replacing the bulbs, when you plug them in if they work they WILL go down and take your arm with them.

Not to hijack but I have a similar issue with my 02. When I turn my lights on to the parking position the lights pop up but are not on. Then when I go to H/L position they come on.
