Simply put bud, Naples, Sanibel and Captiva $$. St. Augustine $. The Keys $$. Key West $$$$.

Based on what you said you like to do, I believe that Bonita Beach Park, and Lover's Key would be a great place to visit. Only a few Corvette hours from you, yet it will take you far away in spirit. Lover's Key is among the world's most beautiful beaches; there is a hotel on the key, reasonably priced, a Day's Inn if I recall correctly. It is a wonderful place to just relax and "do nothint", with a good variety of restaurants just up the Road in Estero Beach.

Whatever you do, good luck.

Default Butterflys

We found the Butterfly museum in Gainesville a enjoyable afternoon outing. They also had an extensive display of FL native American culture in the same building.

Or you could goto Butterflyworld in Coconut Creek just north of Fort Laud'. It does have the largest collection of butterflies in the world.
