Default Wake Up SW Florida!!!

It seems like our brothers & sisters on the east coast (Dade, Broward), west coast (Tampa area) and points to the north always seem to have a cruise in happening almost every other weekend and are having all of the fun despite whatever the weather is doing. Does anyone have any ideas about putting something together (i.e. Clewiston Inn lunch, corvette poker run, rally, breakfast cruise to Mel's Diner or Flo & Ella's, lunch cruise to Shrimp Shack or Joe's Crab Shack, Snook Inn or dinner cruise-in somewhere). We need to dust these babies off get them circulating again. How about it? Participation would be open to all able to read this of course.

Wifey and I wouldn't mind lunch at the Clewiston Inn some time. Nice ride out the Sawgrass, to I75 then North on US27.

I have been there many times. When I rode bikes we used to go around the lake and that was one of our stops.

It's very easy to do a cruise. You can organize one yourself. We at TampaBay Vettes cruise every month. We find some back roads, you as leader pick the tour and don't tell anyone, but give a sealed envelope with directions in case the slower guys get lost. We go a minimum of 75 miles normally on back roads so we can open up the toys alittle. Then before hand call a restaurant and make arrangements for breakfast. Usually a few days ahead of cruise to give place an idea of how many are coming so you can sit together. A buffet place is best, faster to get food etc. Find a meeting place (Sundays are best) at 9:00am and assume you get to breakfast at 11:00am. That way everyone is home by 1:00pm for football. We started with 8 corvettes, now we are up to an average of 40 to 45. It's a real rush to get 40 cars going plus 90 MPH. If you want to join us, we go again, August 26 at 9:00am. (See TampaBay Vettes Site for directions).

Hope this helps alittle!!

Jim
