Default Vacuum advance system

Hummmm, Just a question. I have replaced the points and regulator inside my distributer with a Pertronix Ignitor ll system. Does the factory vacuum advance system still function as it did at birth or can that vacuum line simply be removed and both ends capped? Not real important either way but was just wondering.
