Thumbs down New Member wants opinions

My older brother always had the cool cars. 58 Impala 348 3 on the floor, 66 427 Vette, Fiero, Cordoba, 383 Sport Fury, and when he passed recently he was on his 2nd Infinity Sports model. I being the starving artist drove Opel Kadettes, Vegas, a dog 80' 6cyl Camaro, and some other cars my memory has erased. I currently drive a 2007 Scion TC and I still have my trusty 84 Jeep CJ7 I bought new probably my hippest ride of all. Some I'm thinking to myself what better way at the ripe age of 66 to honor the memory of my brother than to invest some of what he left me in that Corvette I always lusted after. I love reading about cars and the past few years it seemed like the Mustangs were the way to go but what I have read about the new Vettes' is causing me to alter my perspective. The 2014's seem to be the ultimate American ride. I am seriously considering dumping the Scion although it's been terrific and buying a Vette while I am able to enjoy it. Question is do I look at one a few years older (2002 on up) or go with the 2014? I really would love a 63-70 but they are quite expensive and I am guessing not as reliable. I am looking for a daily driver.
Thoughts?

My thoughts are that you should keep thinking.

I guess it will boil down to what your budget is. No sense lusting after something if it is just out of your price range. So figure that out first and then see what your options are within that constraint.

If you can afford a C7, then by all means go that route. But it not, then look to see what you CAN afford and go from there.

Since you mentioned that this has to be a daily driver, you really have to look at the age of the car to determine if it would be practical. The older the car, typically, the more time and money you will spend on maintenance. Plus, the early generation Vettes are less sophisticated and have less creator comforts. Finding a '63 - early '70s Vette in daily driver condition with AC, is going to be a challenge. If you have the money, go buy the C7. It is the best Vette I have ever owned and I have owned a few. It has more raw power than any other generation base Corvette, and it has a tremendous amount of technology engineered into this car. You would not be sorry with a C7, JMO.

If you can spend what it takes get the C7.

I guess my comment wasn't making much sense.

It just sounds like there are a lot of options floating around in your head and the differences in the cars you mention are huge. A lot to think about is all I meant.
