If you can afford a C7, then by all means go that route. But it not, then look to see what you CAN afford and go from there.
Yes that is what I figured, so the C7 is that much better than C6 in your opinion?

Without having owned a C7 I really can't answer that one. Personally I have learned to not be the first on the block when a major change has been made to a car. Let the bugs get worked out for a year. So if I were going to get a C7 I would get a 2015 model at the earliest. Of course, that is with the fact in mind that the 2016 model will probably be even better. Like when I bought the 2007 C6 Coupe and in 2008 they replaced the LS2 with the more powerful LS3.

Quite frankly, I think a lot of people were surprised at the C7. There was a lot of rumor going around that the Corvette was going to be nerfed with a 6 cylinder engine to favor gas mileage over performance. I'm glad to see that this didn't happen.

Besides, you really don't want to be in a hurry to buy something like this. Take your time and consider all of your options so that when the dust settles YOU come away from the experience happy as a clam about it.

It just sounds like there are a lot of options floating around in your head and the differences in the cars you mention are huge. A lot to think about is all I meant.

Since you want a daily driver, go for the newest car you can afford. A C7 edition would be awesome if your budget permits. Thery are already planning great changes for 2015 with the performance data recorder and the top dog Z06 coming out.
However if your bufget is limited, the C6 and C5 generations are great cars.
My 07 vert has served ne very well for the last 7+ years.
Hope this helps and Good luck.
PS: I would stongly suggest you have a mechanic go over any used vette before you buy as repairs can be pricey!!!!!

This is kind of an interesting video:

Looks like the C7 needs some top end oomph.

Maybe the C7 Z06 should have gone with turbos instead of a super charger.
