One word: Fun....Here's how it works..

You register the morning of the run and receive your first poker card that is sealed in an envelope. Then you are handed the list of card stops. You can go in any order you want but the easiest is:

Head up Longboat Key to Holmes Beach to the Anchor Inn which is the first card stop where you will pick up your second card. Remember, you got your first card at the registration.

Then jump over the Sunshine Skyway to the Holiday Inn at Sunspree (first exit you come to off the right) where you will pick up your third card at their Tiki Bar.

Come back down to Bradenton to Hooters on US 41 to pick up your fourth card.

Then back down to Sarasota to the Hooters at Clark Rd. and US 41 for your fifth card and lunch. There you will turn in your sealed cards where we will open them and scotch tape them to an entry form with your name on it. All the cards on the entry forms will then be placed on a table, constantly keeping the best hand at the top so people can keep track of the hands. Also the worst hand at the bottom because that also gets a prize. You can by extra cards (up to two per hand) for a hand to try to better it. Say you've got 3 Kings and you want to try for a 4th King. What it comes down to is pure luck of the draw. No one will know what their hand is until we unseal them. And they will be sealed in a manner which will prevent anyone from opening them up. Any cards that look like they've been tampered with is immediate disqualification.

You can travel by yourself, or caravan with friends. THIS IS NOT A RACE OF ANY TYPE. It is a nice scenic cruise which takes about two hours and fifteen minutes to complete.

So for the fifty dollar entry fee you get:

Two official poker run tee shirts
One poker hand
Lunch for two at Hooters where the award ceremony will take place.

Best hand: $ 1,000.00 plus trophy
2nd best: $ 500.00 plus trophy
3rd best: $ 250.00 plus trophy
Worst hand: $ 250.00 plus trophy

We have a lot of great door prizes to give away too. Full detailing kits, Tervis Tumbler kits, Corvette posters, Corvette books, Tommy of Corvettes West is giving away full oil changes, etc.

They are the most fun events I've ever done boating and I'm sure this will be the same. Come out and give it a try. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Any further questions call me at 941-544-1375

Prize amounts based on at least 60 entries.
Russ

No clues to stops, all stops are predetermined. People can travel by themselves or caravan in groups. Personally, I think it'd be more fun to caravan in groups. Might as well "make a statement"...

This is going to be the event that will be talked about for the rest of the year.

I mean for fifty bucks somebody is going to take home a grand. I'm hoping for at least 100 cars.

And Hooters has promised to take VERY good care of us.

Rich: With your permission I would like to add "CorvetteFlorida.com" on the back of our Poker Run tee shirts at no charge. Want to plug our Forum....

Heck yeah! Man, I appreciate the thought! Wish I was more of a "go getter" to promote this site more.

Who do I have to bump off to buy a couple of those T-shirts for the wife and I?

Thanks again!

Don't have to bump off anybody for the tee shirts.....

We'll have some extras to sell anyway so I'll be sure to set two aside. What sizes do you need????

Then of course you could throw caution to the winds and come down for the Poker Run.....
