Try growing navel orange trees. They shocked the hell out of me being as cold hardy as they are. I too lost a bunch of satsumas, that are supposed to be very cold hardy. But the navels, even the cara cara form, beat them hands down shrugging off the cold temps. Rarely even get any leaf damage...- Rich Z

Yeah, I know. This thread started in 2024. Well here in north Florida for the last few years we have had notable cold spells come through. Last year we had a memorable ice storm that took down power lines. My citrus trees would argue pretty strenuously against winters getting warming. Lost...- Rich Z

0.30" of rain today (Friday). Went to a gem and mineral show at the Tallahassee Fair Grounds even with the threatening rain. Show turned out to be a lot better than I was expecting. Lots of interesting stuff there. If you are in to that kind of thing, of course.- Rich Z

Yeah, sometimes I think perhaps Connie and I should have moved further south when we left Maryland. But land just was not affordable for the size I wanted. Just not willing to live on a half acre able to hear my neighbors belching and farting.- Rich Z
