Nope, yep, nope, and not needed,,,, answers in that order. The law allows "vehicle inspections" for safety reasons since there is no longer an inspection process every year. No probable cause is needed since it is "random". They are not searching for anything except faulty equipment so the unwarranted search is not there. About the only thing inside the car they would be concerned with is the seatbelts. The rest of the inspection would be things like tire tread, brakes, wipers, lights (modified mufflers
) etc.... Bummer but all legal.
