Z06Fever! Well, why not? Having one of these toys is definitely an illness for which there is no cure, so let's talk about this specific malady. |

ZR1 in anyone's future?
Man, I do LIKE this new color. I think it will be called Cyber Gray Metallic.....
On one hand I'm disappointed with this new ZR1, but on the other hand I find myself attracted to it. $100+K is a LOT of money, though. And we all know how risky it can be the be the first on the block with something new from GM. The first year or two of production is really akin to a final beta test on new designs and features. There are a LOT of new designs in this car that haven't gone through the test of time on the street. But since the rumor is that this will only be a two year production run, if you want to get one, you just might need to be prepared to accept the arrows in the back that come with being a pioneer.
Plus I'm thinking this could be an expensive car to maintain. I'm pretty sure the extended warranty will not cover such things as brake pads, rotors, clutch and shock absorbers, which all all going to be rather big ticket items on this car. I've heard some big dollar figures thrown about concerning those ceramic rotors, so if you have to replace them on your dime, it might hurt a bit.
Heck, even paying sales tax on that purchase would gripe my butt. There are a LOT better things I would like to spend $7K on rather than just giving it to the governor for allowing me to buy a car here.

Hi Rich, One of our neighbors said he's going to get one. He told me he's selling his 81 and his 87 Vette to make room for it. I don't know what he's asking for either one of them, but the 81 is a Pro Street with a blown, injected 383, although he has a big block for it on an engine stand. The 87 is mildly customized with a ZR1 body and lowered, custom nose. Not sure, but I think the engine is stock. Beautiful paint on both. He has a lot of "toys" in his garage.

Yeah, that would be one of my problems as well. Room. I'm not about to get rid of the C5Z nor the C6. Connie's not about to give up her Z71 Silverado. And the van comes in real handy. The carport only holds two vehicles and I'm surprised Connie gave up the spot for the truck to put the C6 in there.
This might be the biggest hurdle of all.............
See if you can get that guy to visit us here. I'd like to hear about those toys of his. Especially if he gets the ZR1.

Hell, I'm content with my 87!
I would like to see what your nighbors lowered, custom nosed 87 looks like though
The ZR1? Nah, I'll pass
Use the $$ to travel and retire and be happy with what I have or maybe one day a new(er) C6

Yeah..... No way I'm getting rid of the C5Z, and I doubt the ZR1 would give me much more thrills than that car already does. Maybe getting a built motor with strengthened drivetrain and a new paint job would be money better spent. But heck, truth be known, when those turbos kick in NOW, I feel like I have a tiger by the tail as it is.......

Although I think it's a beautiful car, I'll pass!
Like others have stated, I'll spend my $ on other things (like Mods ) and trips.
I'm just grateful to have my C6 .

I'll have to introduce you to Jerry, Rich. He's very busy though, hard to get up with him sometimes. He also has an 02 Z06 that is a daily driver. You may have seen it, it's silver. He does all his own mods and paint, very talented man.
