C5 Coupe Roof Panel
Has anyone on the forum had to buy a roof panel outright --- no exchange of the bad one? My Coupe has the painted roof panel, and I'm thinking about getting a blue transparent one. Anyone know where to go to find one, and any info, good or bad, about where you got yours at? Nothing wrong with my painted one, I just would like to have 2. If I would have ordered the car, it would have had the dual roof panels option. Thanks..........
Andy

I bought one used from a private party. Watch ebay, but becaereful and be cautious of thr dreaded delamination issue if you buy used. Ask for a lot of pics of the passenger side.
A good used one around $500.00

delamination on a c5?
I have never heard of that, only heard about that on a C6 (and have experienced it on the C6 Z06).

unfortunately, I speak from experience
These tops are hard to find and from what I was told GM does not make the entire top any more. Hope you can get it repaired
Tops were between 550 and 650! -
I had 2 shipped to me 1 from e-bay (arrived damaged - shipping company paid) and 1 from a forum member (arrived damaged - shipping company paid). These tops are very difficult to ship so they get to their destination in one piece. I lost mine Nov 12, 2006 (a very sad day for me - losing the top) of 2006, finally found a new one in May 07 (picked up in Kentucky at CF CI and bought home to me). Glad I have a glass one, but I do not like it on MY.

Brad's Corvettes in Fort Lauderdale. He's got a bunch of them.
And what the hell is delamination?

He said he wanted to purchase a top. Andy said nothing about a damaged one needing repair.
Andy PM me if you need any of the following info.
Where a used may be within a 1/2 hour of your Vette
Where to purchase a new one
Where to purchase a remanufactured one

Repaired - meaning he get his vette back the way he wants it, rather that is a new top or whatever.
I just wanted him to be aware they do not ship well even when packed well.
