Default Targa top allignment

I need some plain english on how to adjust the gap between my "T" tops. At the windshield the gap is about 3/8" and the rear is almost 5/8" I do have a Chiltons but I don't seem to understand their explanation.

Tops seal well and no leaks but if I can close down the rear gap to match the front gap the alignment will be better and look better too.

Suggestions?
