Default Oil Change question

Getting ready to do my first oil/filter change in the driveway. I read it takes 6.5 qts, is it ok if I fill it up with 7?

If the manual calls for 6.5 quarts...that's ALL that i'd put in!
That being said, check your dip stick at 6.5 to see where the level is at. If it's reading "add" then go ahead. Too much oil can be harmful to any motor, although i'm not certain what a 1/2 quart (over) will do.? Better to be safe than sorry!

what a pain in the ass!! ok so i planned on doing my oil change earlier today, something came up so i put it off, tried again a few hours later only to realize the low profile jack i bought still wouldnt get the front end off the ground cuz there was no room to pump it up!! ARRRGHHH!!

Looks like im buying ramps!!!

Default Chris,

Do you have access to any boards that you can drive up on?
Like 2x4's or 2x6's. Enough to get you the clearance you need to use the jack effectively? You may have to sort of stack them in a ramp type fashion in order to accomplish this though.

The reason I ask is because, the ramps you buy (unless you get low profile ramps)? may be too steep for the front of your Vette to clear.
