Where are the model car kits for the 1966 model year?

Why is it that there are mostly all Corvette years represented by model car kit companies but I have to yet run across a kit manufacturer that makes one for the '66? Am I alone on this?

Kind of relative to the OP

Revell, the makers of plastic models did an awesome thing recently and for any and all model enthusiasts out here this might be of interest.

In the mid to late 1990's I was given a model car kit of a '67 Vette vert. I have a '66. The giver considered "a Vette is a Vette" -who could imagine that coming from a '66 Vette-owner's wife? Oh well, I figured I could mod it to a '66 without too much trouble.

15 or so years later I decide to open the still-sealed carton and commence my project. I started sanding and priming and painting some parts. I never took a piece count since this was a brand new, sealed, never opened box. After some time I noticed no rubber tires. How could that be?

I contacted the Revell website but the kit was discontinued so it made ordering replacement tires close to impossible. I photocopied the instruction sheet and sent it to the address listed on the sheet with a request to buy the tires that were missing from the original box. The letter came back- "Address Unknown". I eventually found a different address, sent the same letter and request, and in less than two weeks a set of four tires was in my mailbox- no charge.

A long winded story but something to share.
