I hope the victim gets from his lawsuit what he deserves, and I hope the cops, doctors, DA and the hospital get what they deserve.

I agree. But not having been there, I don't know what is missing from the storyline. Based on my experience there is usually two stories and the truth, which lies somewhere in the middle. If the officers presented probable cause to the Judge and he signed off on it, where does the liability lie?
I've been involved in many traffic stops with positive K9 alerts. We would search the vehicle and if nothing was found, so be it.
I've never heard of taking it to that extreme. Could it be a case of knowing this guy was a dealer and they were unable to catch him with the goods, so they decided to get revenge? In any event, he'll probably never have to work again.
