Love bugs - 09/2014

Looks like they are building up in the Crawfordville area. Also saw a LOT of them down in St. Marks. Connie and I were riding our bikes and stopped at a gazebo in the middle of an open area. It was painted white and nearly coated with sprinkling of love bugs.

Took the blue car just to the post office today and had a few I had to clean off the front.

Planning on running down to see my mom in the Englewood area sometime over the next few weeks, so hope they aren't bad all along the way. Guess we'll be stopping frequently to clean off the front of whichever car we drive.

Yesterday I had one of the garage doors open because Connie had to run some errands and I figured this would be a good chance to mop the floor of the space she puts her truck in. While I had the door open, LOTS of love bugs were coming in like the open door was an invitation to them.

Not sure if they are getting worse here or it's just that I was out there and they wanted to come in real bad. I know I had to clean a bunch of smashed carcasses off of the windshield of Connie's truck just a few days ago.

Guess if we take any of the cars out I'll need to put plenty of cleaning supplies in the trunk and make frequent stops to do clean up duty.

Connie and I drove out to St. George Island and Cape San Blas today, and the love bugs weren't too bad along the coast. I did have to clean off the front end of the car a few times, but it's not like the car was coated with carcasses. Probably had it gotten hotter today there would have been more of them flying about.

Days sure are getting short again.....

Connie and I took the bikes down to St. Marks today, and the love bugs were pretty thick down there. Was best not to yawn while riding the bikes on the trail.....

You guys must have a little different love bug season up there than we do in Tthe Tampa area. They are pretty much gone down here.
