No way, I've been there once myself,, pictures don't do it justice. It's very very beautiful. LOVED it. I spent 5 days on Kauai, and 5 on Maui with a short day trip to Ouahu to see Pearl Harbor. While I liked Maui, I thought Kauai was more laid back and a tad more scenic. I hope to go back some day.

Spent the day doing the North Shore Lahani(sp?) and up to IAO Valley.
Have about 100 pictures. Wish there was a way I could do this without doing them 4 at a time. :banghead: I'm probably going to post them to my website and post a link. Rich anyway you could hook me up with a way to bypass this 4 picture limit? Most of the pictures are like 25-50K a piece.

And by the way Friday which is today for you Florida folk. Ha Ha I'm still trying to get used to the fact that it's only 8:15 when I'm posting this so we are 6 hours behind you all. Anyways Blue Hawai Helicopter tour of Haleakala and Hana and then Saturday a Island Hop to Hilo for a short time to do the Volcano tour in the Helicopter then flying back. Then off to Oahu on Monday to do the Pearl Harbor thing.

Beautiful pictures!

I lived on Oahu from 1969 to 1971. Went back for a visit on 1982 but have not been back since. All the islands are very different but a great place to visit. You will love Volcano National Park.

Have a great time!

Sounds like your on Maui. Thats an island that you can see unspoiled beaches or the Haleakala(sp?) crater which has one of the worlds best observatories, or go into town for some shopping and night life. Loved it there. I wanted to, but never made it to, the sunrise event on the crater each morning. I heard it was outstanding!

Yes on Maui. Went on the Eastern tour today with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters. Absolutely the most stunning and beautiful helicopter ride I've been on. Hana Waterfalls Hallakalea and Molokai. Very nice flight. We have 8 more days here in Paradise.

I'm now trying to figure out how to get the corvette and Impala over here and just move here. I suspect an earthquake would change my mind however. :yesnod:

I have so many pictures it's going to take evenings for a month to get them posted. I'll try and post some highlights as I can.

Aloha

If you like the water try diving (or snorkeling) on Molkini Crater. It's the crescent moon shaped piece of land off the west coast of the island just south of Lahaina. You can see Molokin Crater from the Haleakala Crater observatory. Great fish and marine life to see there! My wife and I dove the south wall. Saw all kinds of marine life (Black tip reef sharks, turtles and all!). Another great dive site is "Joes tug boat". The only thing I cant be sure about is that it's not near Kauai. Im about 95% sure it was Maui. Sea turtles every where!

Well I'm bummed we flew over from Maui to Hilo to catch the helicopter tour and it was CANCELED due to bad weather over the volcano. :nonod:  So we rented a car and drove to the summit and took some pictures and then had to beat it back to the airport to fly to Honolulu and then back on to Maui. So we didn't necessarily waste a day but now we are rescheduling for Molokai "friendly isle" and West Maui. And possible a trip to the Nature Isle. Landed in Honolulu wasn't all that impressed seemed like tampa and orlando all crammed into one spot. :hehehe: CraterFest was going on tonight so that would be a busy night.

Looking into a Luau in Lahaina or here in Wailea.

Aloha and I'm bound and determined that I'm going to get to tour the volcano from the air.

Yea, Oahu is like any other big city, but Pearl Harbor is DEFINETLY worth the trip. The feeling of honor of being an American just beams as you see the sunken Arizona and the Mighty Mo where the treaty was signed.

Well here's a couple photos of the last day on the island. Unfortuantely the flight leaves for Atlanta tomorrow afternoon. I have to say goodbye to this beautiful island and the o so sinful food.

Only thing/s we didn't do were the Luau, Sunrise at Haleakala and Whale Watching. So that will be in the Winter time when we come back.
