Major storm in Carlisle

CorvetteFlorida and Corvettes Anonymous Members,
I talked to Tom (MM-C5) today and he said that he was alright. He said that a few shirts and a few hats got wet, but that everything else EXCEPT the Corvettes Anonymous tent was dry and clean. The tent got trashed by the storm, and will have to be replaced, but since he was "anal" (his words by the way), and packaged everything up in individual plastic bags and then into lockable plastic bins, he made out quite well considering how bad the storm was. He said that there were some people injured at the show site, and that a lot of people were hit much worse than he was. He said that one person was trying to leave the show site, and had a tree fall on the front of his C3 while he was leaving, and had to be transported to the hospital because of injuries. Tom called me from his car and said that he made it out of Carlisle this morning OK. He probably won't be back online until after he gets home. He has a couple of side trips going on, and hopefuly will be back home sometime this coming weekend.

A C3 injuried? ! ? I'll have to speak to God about this!

Seriously, glad Tom is fine, hope to hear from him soon.

Hi Andy,
I just read about this and am very glad to hear that more people weren't hurt.
It was a nasty storm. I'm glad to hear Tom is ok.

Thanks for posting.

Tom was my roommate at the hotel and we had a great time until we rode into the fairgrounds in my car Sunday morning not sure what to expect. My shade tent was flipped over but still had two stakes holding it down. Tom's tent was caved in with so many of the supports broken in two. But Tom's attitude was, "The show must go on!" After about an hour, Tom was back in business selling/signing up new members with the lack of shade - and he was working with many people around his tables not just sitting around.

Tom - I hope you do this again next year! Uh,,,without the storm. :D

What A Trip!

And I'm talking about being Guy's Room mate! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Actually the entire outing was an incredible experience. Corvettes Anonymous was very well received and had it not been for the extreme heat on Saturday and the tornado that night, we probably would have come close to running out of goods.

As it is, we ran out of membership cards and decals. Some Boyscout I turned out to be! :rofl1:

Lots of folks had far more damage than I did so I feel blessed by the entire experience.

Took a side trip to Columbus OH to meet with a client and that gave me an excuse to go on to Indpls to visit with Mom. Just got back this afternoon. +/- 2800 miles in all.

Thanks for everyone's concern and support!

Thanks Rick! I keep referring to the tornado as a hurricane. Guess I've been brainwashed! :lmao:

See you next week.
