I think Connie's plan is for us to head on down to Englewood on Saturday to visit with my mom right before Mother's Day. Getting together with you all sounds like it would be a lot of fun, so I'll run this by her. This SHOULD be after most of the eggs have been laid, but I may have some stragglers that will keep me from being away all weekend. The dummies will sometimes lay outside the egg laying box, which means the eggs will dry up and die in about 24 hours. Snakes just are NOT the smartest creatures God put on this planet....

Wish I could get 1000+ advertising sponsors for this site so I could quit being tied down so much with the reptile business. After all these years doing it (since 1978), it's starting to get REALLY old....

Have you thought of this or actually done this yet.....IDEA!!!!
Go to the Top 100 Sites and send each one a "PDF" flier with an Invitation with all the details of being a sponsor. I know its a simple idea, but sometimes more than one invite motivates these guys. Make sure they know we have 2300 members also etc.

I have been also doing my best to get you loaded up!!!

Let's get a flier made and give out to the gang to take to shows. I know of at least 4 of us at Saturday's Show at Quaker State had fliers to give out. The same could be done for sponsors and handed to the vendors at each show.

I always have my fliers with me and although I don't walk around and pass them out, I place a bunch on my windshield for the taking.

Oh yeah... that's something else on my TODO list. Make up a new flyer design and get them printed up. All 5,000 of the batch I had printed up are now in circulation somewhere around the state..

As for going after sponsors, man, I SUCK at the salesmanship thing. I've actually had sponsors approach me cold asking for details, so I send that to them, and whoosh.... never hear from them again.

You would think that a guy who could sell snakes could sell absolutely ANYTHING, wouldn't you?

Connie thinks we could do it, but I need a location for that Insta-Lube meet. A map would help..... Have to see if we can work it to get to Clearwater on Friday evening by 6pm, do the Steak Out, get a motel for the night, then drive down to Englewood early on Saturday to visit my mom, head back up to Tampa for the Insta-lube (time?), go out to dinner with you folks, find another motel for Saturday night, then drive back home on Sunday.

That'a all assuming I don't have a half dozen or more snakes due to lay eggs that weekend.......

Time: We start arriving between 5-5:30 pm. We're usually out of there (unless someones modding a car) arount 8:00 pm at the latest; however, since it's not a "formal" car show with scheduled hours, people come and go at will.

It's really a great time with a pretty decent turnout

Yeah, I get the same thing, but it's just a numbers thing.

Well now, THERE'S your problem! There is a Huge difference between selling snakes and snake oil and you are too honest for the latter!

On Friday night, May 9th, we will host Steak-Out ’08 in This is our 5th Food Drive and Funds raiser to benefit RCS Food Bank. (Download our flyer for full details.)

This year we will have 6 classes to be judged! Each class winner will receive a $50 gift certificate + a year subscription to Car Collector magazine. (Total value +/- $90)

This is our ONLY really structured event (and that structured part’s questionable), so I sincerely hope that you can make it!

Set Up: You will need to be at Steak n Shake Not Later Than (NLT) 4:00 PM I’ll be there by 3:00. About 3 – 4 people would be nice.

Parking: NLT 5:00 Anybody who can wave their arms and yell, would be a good fit.

Registration and Goody Bag give out: NLT 5:30 Guaranteed to be more organized than last year…….. 3 – 4 would be nice.

Donation Receiving, Weighing, Recording & Boxing: NLT 6:00 3 – 4 would be nice.

50/50 Sales: NLT 6:00 1 – 2 would be nice.

Gift Basket Sales: 6.00 1 – 2 would be nice

Break Down: We want to begin breaking down by 10:00 PM. This incredibly coveted opportunity is open to anybody who wants to pitch in! RCS will have a truck there to take the donations. I will take the big tent down on Saturday.

Coffee With The Doctor & Nurse Goodbody ~ Just for the volunteers: Coffee and Re-hash is on me. I’ll try to get The Doctor to be there but can’t truly guarantee it, although Nurse Goodbody is a pretty sure thing!

WAT You Say?

Steak-Out on Friday, WAT on Sunday. It doesn’t get any better than this!

Sunday morning 5/11, we will gather at the at Derby Lane to cruise to WAT Tampa for some Excellent Thai Cuisine. We will depart Derby Lane at 0930.

For those of you traveling from the Hillsboro side, this is a bit redundant, but the string of Corvettes and drive up Bayshore is pretty impressive.

HOWEVER, should you decide to go directly to WAT, please cordon off an area for us all to park together. Call me @ 727-204-8308 for the number of cars in the caravan.

If you are going to be in the caravan and will have a 2-way radio, our channels are 5, sub 34
