05 problems?

ive been looking at a few 05 c6's. hell of a deal. my only concern is buying a first production year of a new model. anyone know of any common problems with these cars? thanks

Mine was built in May of 05 and very few issues. It was the first ones off the line that were giving all the headaches...

Some '05s had crank pulley bolt problems. Be aware that if you are considering an automatic, the '05s have a 4-speed while the '06s on up have the 6-speed paddle shift.

The rear differential is very weak compared to the 06+. Secondly if you buy a M6 drivetrain, youll have to keep it in reverse while the car is off, for some reason when the car is off and not in reverse it still thinks its on and will drain your battery. This is something they fixed with the 06+.

I did a lot of research before buying, 05s were bad, 06 were better but 07 seemed to be when they got their chit together.

Also if you go with a A4, least you have better options of tranny upgrades..only one person atm has the A6 upgrade and he doesnt tell much of what hes done to it to make it worth 3k dollars.

Being a former Chevy service manager the 05s had a lot of electrical bugs . some from modules and some from programing issues. I would do an 06
