General Florida DiscussionsAnything related to Florida in general. From "natives" talking about things they know about, to visitors asking about details to make their visit more pleasant.
A little warmer down here Rich. At least had the chance to get "Peek" out and give her a bath. She needed it. Our club went on a mystery cruise last Saturday and spent all but maybe the last 20 min is some sort of rain. As you well know Electron Blue is not very pretty in basic "dirt".

Yeah man, I hear that. The blue has to be clean and shiny to be good for the eyeballs.
My car has been on the lift so much that during dead time I would polish up underneath the car. And I have all that insulation wrap on the exhaust that I'm not real crazy about getting wet, much less mud caked. I woke up this morning thinking I might be able to take the car out today. They scraped the dirt road yesterday so it wouldn't have shaken my teeth loose. But I took one look at the weather radar and, well, so much for that idea.
I might need to take a refresher course on how to drive a stick shift. Speaking of which, maybe my not driving for a while is for the best anyway. I've been suffering through a bout of plantar fasciatis in my left foot for a few months now and perhaps pushing in on the clutch pedal is not too good for it.
Might as well put some sort of silver lining into that cloud.....
Yeah, I MIGHT be able to get the car out on Monday if there is no more rain. Connie says the road was wet looking this morning, so I don't know.... The roads department, in their infinite wisdom, put a layer of what they called "river mud" over the section of road right through our property to "stabilize" the surface. Which seems fine when it is bone dry. But when it gets wet it becomes, well RIVER MUD. And it seems to take FOREVER to dry out, whereas just regular sand would have had the water percolate through it a LOT quicker.
Anyway, if not Monday, probably not for a while since more rain is forecast (if you can call it that) for the rest of the week.

Yeah, looks like South Carolina, and Georgia from Atlanta up, is going to get dumped on.
The bulk of the rain on the south side of the storm might just pass over us here in north Florida. We got some rain earlier, but it seems to have moved further north recently.
