So, how was the turnout at the show?

Probably a low turnout. We got three inches of rain up here Saturday and Sunday with a good bit of lightning. And then after it was almost over the power went off at 7:30 this morning. Didn't get it back on til after 1:00. Glad we had a breeze. It wasn't too bad with the windows open considering our thermometer was showing a high of 88*. It got up to 80* in the house.

as bad as the waether was, we still had 45 cars show up. We will be able to donate about $3000.00 to the Childrens Lighthouse from the proceeds of the silents auction items and entry fees.

That's impressive. Wonder how many would have went if the weather had been nice.

Yeah, that wasn't a bad turnout at all, considering the bad weather. I'm glad that there wasn't any hail associated with the storms. At least not at the show. That was a pretty powerful storm system.
Just rotten luck with the weather, I suppose. I was actually looking forward to going there, but not enough that I was willing to scrape mud off of the underside of my car afterwards.

Not that I know of. Is there a list of some kind available?
A while back the roads dept. sent around a survey that asked us if we would be willing to *donate* a 50 ft. wide easement through our property in order to have the road paved. As it is, the easement we show on our deed for the road only allows 15 ft. So they wanted quite a large chunk of land from us as the road runs straight through our property. We declined, of course.

IIRC they did the same thing on Bethel Road. Two or three owners declined so they paved the whole road except in front of the property owners who declined. I think they finally threatened Imminent Domain and got the whole thing paved, but I haven't been down that way in a few years, so not sure.
I think the county Road and Bridge Department has the info on which roads are approved for paving. With the economy as it is, I'm sure it's a small list.

Actually a good chunk of the road would be unpaved if they pulled the same stunt here, just considering what we own. Since this is a loop road, they could never support the contention in court that their action of Imminent Domain is a necessity for the common good of the county.
Yeah, I doubt the county has any money in the budget to pave any roads right now.
