Default More on C5 Noise

Thanks for all the "welcomes to the site", I appreciate it. As I said, I have a C5, and it is definitely not a squeak or rattle. I hear it usually when I first pull out, in first or second gear, and going straight. It sounds like two metal rods clacking against each other, or like a metal rod bouncing off the concrete. Pushing in the clutch doesn't effect it. I have jacked up the car front and back and can't find anything loose. I have checked the sway bar in back and it was tight. I have searched on the corvette forum and haven't found any description that sounds like it. I sent an email on it to the Vette Doctor in Melbourne ( I have no experience with them or any other mechanic...I do my own maintenance). Again, thanks for any advice. BTW, should I be posting this somewhere else on this site besides the welcome area?

Default Melbourne Mechanic

First of all, to the forum.

Try Bob at "The Vette Doctor". He is located on Wickahm Road just north of Ellis Rod. He is a Corvette Master Mechanic and does great work.

I read recently about someone who had a similar noise and it was something about the torque tube. That is all I can recall. Good luck.

Default Yaa.I believe something making that kinda noise

I'd be checking that torque tube as well.
Just had a 2003 Z06 that the torque tube was missing some hardware (bolts)
and was a bit of a job to fix but got it done.
Surely the vette doctor will know if it's the tube in a jiffy. (you must have wheel hop for sure)
