It's pretty much a moot point whether I like the car or not, as I doubt I'm ever going to be in a financial position to buy a new Corvette again. Not unless I trade in the other ones for it, and I doubt I would fall in love with the new one enough to ever do that.

Heck, I've already got what is going to be like having a band new car when I get done fixing it.
But heck, when GM starts coming out with specialty models of the C7, well, maybe I can rustle up more guns I want to sell off the help finance a purchase. But still, the garage only holds four vehicles, and there are no vacancies, so something would HAVE to go to make room.

Just DON'T try to get rid of Connie to make room!
THAT is a career ending decision! ![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif) ![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif) ![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Besides, you KNOW you want to add on to the garage anyway.......

Connie doesn't take up THAT much room!
Nope. Money for such things has run out. It certainly didn't help that I had to spend more than double what I had budgeted for the blue car with that fiasco. I don't think I have enough guns left that I could sell to generate that much cash any longer. And we ARE retired, you know. So we have to live on what we have saved and what small income my websites bring in. I'm not expecting social security to survive for long, and certainly health insurance assistance will likely not be anything near what the government has been saying it will be.
So no matter how much the C7 might grow on me, unless I could trade in a couple of vehicles to make pretty much an even trade, I don't see it happening. And based on how unwilling the local chevy dealership was to offer a decent price when I was looking for my C6 Z06, the fact that it would have to be a long distance deal makes it all the more unlikely it would happen.
Heck, I can live happily enough just puttering around with the cars I already have.

Of course you know the dealer has changed hands since you bought that car. Hendrick Autogroup owns it now (along with 83 others) and he moves some cars. They might be worthwhile to deal with Rich. I've driven by there a few times since it became Dale Earnhardt Jr. Chevrolet and they do have a lot more Corvettes on the lot than they used to have. I think I counted a dozen or more near the front of the lot. If nothing else, go up there and drool on a new C7!

Barbie Jordan is still in charge there with Corvette sales, isn't she?

Not sure, but I just looked at their inventory. 13 new Corvettes, 2 of them are 2013's, the rest are 2012's. All but 2 of them are Grand Sports. Prices on the GS's start at $59k. No 2014's yet. Any word on when the hit the showroom floors?

Beats me. I thought the new models hit the showroom floors in the Summer sometime. Maybe August? When we bought the 2009, I think it was in April of 2010, and the 2010s were on the showroom floors, but not the 2011s yet.
I guess it's kind of like the cover dates on most magazines. They have nothing to do at all concerning when the magazine was actually printed.

I had heard that Bowling Green will shut down production of the 2013s at the end of February or early March, and it will take a number of months to re-tool the plant for the 2014s. So, my guess is that we will not see them at the showrooms until the end of summer or early fall. But who knows, the information I heard maybe wrong too.
