Our trip to NC!
Becky and I just got back home tonight from our cabin in NC. It is just outside of Asheville, near Mt. Mitchell.
It was COLD this morning when we left...37 degrees! Got into SWFL and it was 87! Jeez! We jumped right into summer.
We really just relaxed and chilled out. I grilled out a lot on the deck, and we went on a few hikes in the area to check out some waterfalls/etc. Had a great time and can't wait to go back!
A few pics:

Thanks for the pics. Connie has been talking about a trip to North Carolina sometime soon. Not too sure I'd be all that keen about temps of 37 degrees, though..

Go! It was great! It was just a front that came through after all that damn severe weather.
Overall the days were in the 70's, highest was 81! Great time! Beautiful area!

My daughter lives and works in Asheville, and I can second the notion that
it's a very nice place. I always enjoy my time in that area, and find interesting
things to do all the time.

Great pics. I love that area too. I lived in Fayetteville for 3 years each year we took a trip to outerbanks and Ashville in the fall toured the Biltmore Estate. Of course that is when we were home and not deployed. I wouldn't mind going back again.

Speaking of the Outer Banks, does anyone know whether a Corvette can get on and off of the ferry to Okracoke Island? The last time Connie and I were there we were driving a Bronco.

Good question? I have been there but was not driving a vette at the time. And is very uncharacteristic of me being an engineer not to notice that hey that ramp is too steep or will fit a low vehicle like a vette

Will be staying in Cherokee at end of month...planning to visit Ashville, Gatlingburg, Pidgeon Forge, Blue Ridge Pkwy, Seiverville and who knows what else...looking forward to seeing some mountains again...I guess it will have to do until the 2014 Caravan...
