I needed something at the store this morning and the weather was perfect for open air driving, so I took out the Stingray. I got to the store a little early and while I was waiting for it to open a guy with a C6 pulls in next to me. The car was spotless with all the add on goodies and when the driver stepped out I could see he had all the right stuff (Crovette ballcap, Corvette event t-shirt and those cutsie little socks with the C5 emblem on them:ack2: ). Once out of the car he starts wiping road spots off it and I think, here's a true Vette enthusiast, so I try to strike up a conversation.:wavey: I tell him how nice his car is and I can see he takes good care of it - he grunts - I ask him if it is his first Vette and if he likes the way it drives and handles - he grunts - I tell him that I have had Vettes since 1961 and that the Stingray is mine - he gives me that "and your point is" stare and grunts again. The store opens and he turns away and walks in. I almost gave him the one finger wave but then just figured that the poor slob is just disGRUNTled and has more dollars than sense. I guess the point of this rant is that not everyone who owns a Vette is part of the Vette culture.:banghead:
