2008 Love Bug season

I’m getting ready to “reposition” the Vette to Florida for good! :dancer01: The plan so far is that I’ll be taking it up to DTE in two weeks for headers, thermostat, tune and dyno. Once I pick her up, we’ll be heading down. A little stop at the NCM for an unofficial home coming on the way. I expect to be on the road May 23rd arriving at our home in Florida on the 24th. I’ll be a full time resident!! :D

The problem I see is that I’ll likely be running right in the middle of love bug season. I’ve been looking but so far have not seen any early sightings or predictions of their arrival. I’ll be applying as many coats of Rejex as I can between now and then but just missing the peak would be priceless.

Anyone hear anything?

They come quick and and in droves, all of a sudden they'll be everywhere and worse on country roads, it's the only time of the year I put the bra on and think twice about cruising the secondary roads. Grin and bear it - it's better than snow :ack2:

Won't be long... I think I hit one on the way home from work tonight. I will be putting the bra on and won't drive the vette very much until June.

Played golf today and I saw quite a few of them flying united! With it being dry down here in Ft. Myers, they maybe coming out a little sooner here.

Good to hear that they are already starting! Maybe they will have done their thing and be gone in time for me to come through. I have the 3m mask and have been adding coats of Rejex and now I just ordered a nylon mask. There is nothing else I can do besides put it in a box and that would be no fun at all. I'm really looking forward to a nice cross country drive in this great car.

I have seen a few flying around. Fortunately they only last for a month or so in May and September. It seems to me that May is the worst of the two months.
