Question...

Is this a pull up, park, shop and or hang out sort of thing? I looked at the Flyer and am still:confused: as to what else there may be. Did I miss something?

~Ray

This is an annual festival in Ft Myers commemorating one of its famous citizens from way back when (Thomas Edison). The cruise-in is just what is. No registration fee but to be in the show we need the info requested in the flyer. There will be other activities ongoing as flyer states. It should be a real fun time for all. See you there.

This is the first time our club has participated in the Edison Festival on any level. (Edison and Henry Ford were close friends so this has always been "Ford Country" at parade time). It should be fun! As we learn more about the particulars Armando will post them. All the events that take place during the week lead up to the Edison Festival of Light Grand Parade on the weekend. This is a night parade which is televised live.

You gotta laugh....People start putting out lawn chairs to "mark" their spots the week before the parade. Mind you, the parade goes through the streets of Fort Myers AND, no one messes with them! :shrug01:

Sorry you guys will miss this. When will you be here in March??

Our current plans are to be there around the 8th and leave around the 13th. Just a long weekend this time. We have some friends coming in from Illinois to spend some time with us. He and I spent a lot of time on each other's Corvettes when we lived close.

But we had a curve thrown at us last night. Joyce slipped on a patch of ice and fell, breaking her ankle. I don't know how you nurses do it. It has only been one day and I already need to get out of the house. The doctor was going to put it in a cast but she had some abrashions that he did not want to cover in fear of infection setting in. So they have put her in a boot that has an air cast that surrounds the ankle. She will be in that for about 6 weeks. I told her that I might have to leave her home for this trip and she did not see the humor in my comment! She definitely will be on the plane with me!

Hope Robert is doing well with his recovery!

"I don't know how you nurses do it. It has only been one day and I already need to get out of the house." ::hehehe: Sorry, couldn't help the snicker...
Man, Rich I'm sorry for Joyce! (Only a little sorry for you ;) ) Is she good on crutches? I can really fly when you give me a pair of them!!
Well, hope she heals quickly. And, I know you'll take good care of her.
Listen, you guys will be down here for the Shrimp Festival weekend. Big parade on that Saturday which our club is very involved in. We carry the shrimp queen and her court. Very big parade with lots of spectators along the way. I carried the outgoing queen last year:
Anyway, hope Joyce feels better soon...Robert is doing quite nicely as far as I'm concerned. He finally drove his vette the other day so he figures he'll make it now...:yesnod: PS You and Joyce can drive in the parade with us
