There is a reason that I have it set this way. As you are probably aware, you can change the way this message board looks within your profile settings. Some people may prefer the more threaded look of the older style bbs systems you probably remember. Those were takeoffs of the usenet groups and a lot of older hands at this got used to that style. If you don't have quick reply set to REQUIRE a click, then anyone who would use that styling would find it pretty useless, as it would simply be a linear chronological display anyway. The "click" explicitly ties the reply to the particular post it is referring to, and makes that sort of display work the way it is supposed to.

Hope that explains my reasoning.......
