They are REALLY bad around here this year. We walk outside the door and they mob us. The mosquito magnets are killing a lot of them, but evidently not ALL of them. They are not something you can ignore, because they bite pretty darn hard and can leave welts.

They don't seem to be attracted to my venus fly traps, though. Too bad, because if they were, I'd buy a couple hundred of them and set them up all around the house.

I went fishing at the St. Marks Lighthouse a few years ago. Had both hands full of fishing gear and a swarm of those evil things came out of nowhere. I'm sure I would have made an entertaining video for someone that day as I tried to swat them with a hand full of fishing rods and a five gallon bucket, trying to run at the same time.....
