First hand experience is the only way to know what the real deal is on anything. Why should experience with an auto insurance company be any different.
I want to get my soon-to-be 18 year old off my auto insurance policy and onto his own. I do not want to be financially liable. That's not to say he's not a good driver, but it could be the "other" guy, right? Every insurance company is "The Best" based on their ads. I swear by my insurance company but their rates for him are prohibitive. So, I am looking for your comments- good or bad- regarding insurance coverage for an 18 year old.
When I was 18, 50 years ago. My Dad said if I wanted to drive his car, I had to pay for the insurance increase out of my part time job pay. Also, I had to pay for gas, maintenance, and also keep it clean for him. Seemed fair to me.
