For this reason has anyone thought of having a shop owner post a bond for 1.2 x the project cost for the benefit of the car owner for custom projects such as these? In case the shop owner does not finish the project, goes out of business or parts end up missing, these types of bonds protect the car owner. I know this is a standard practice in the commercial construction and is required on public project, but I have never heard of it being used in the car hobby. After reading the top three threads in this section it seems that may be a good idea if I ever have any mods done as an extra protection.

Since this discussion is likely to progress to the point where it becomes necessary to move it to the Board of Inquiry, I have initiated a thread there for this purpose -> http://www.corvetteflorida.com/forum...ad.php?t=50585

I can't comment because we're not in the BOI. At least you got the car.

Well even with my car out of xtreme motor sports my luck is still running bad on my car. Received a call from the shop I tookk it to and the shop manager told me tey tried to turn over the short block by hand and it wouldn't move. I called LME who built the motor about it and was assured that it turned very easy before it left their shop. I am at a loss as to why it won't turn now. Any one have any thoughts on this?I'm open to all salutions short of sending the motor back to texas to have it redone. My wallet can't stand anymore cash outflow.

Does it budge at all? ANY movement at all? Maybe the shop manager is the 90 pound weakling everyone kicked sand at on the beach? Is he using a long breaker bar to put some OOMPH behind it? At this point you don't have anything to lose to see what breaks before it breaks loose. It HAS to be something!

I'd be curious if anything can be heard binding further back in the drivetrain. Of course, separating the drivetrain from the block is going to cost you as well, but you would have to do that before sending the motor back to Texas anyway.

Have you been over there yourself to scope out the situation?

Man, I hope this is just something real simple that they are overlooking.
