New or rebuilt transmission
I have a 95 vette I just got.It seams as I have a worn bushing in the rear of the transmission causing a clunk.(I got this info from another forum)
There is a lot of play in the shaft comming out of the tail of the transmissiom,no leak yet.
How high do I need the car in order to get the trans out?
Should I buy a rebuild or have mine repaired?
The transmission shifts fine.
I understand the transmission needs taken apert for this repair.
Is there someone close to tampa that does good work.
I am still driving it just taking it easy so not to damage anything.

Give Greg at AntiVenom in Seffner or Tracy at RevXtreme in Brandon a call. I'm sure either one can help you out.

For local transmission work, this would be my 1st choice:
Tim Moye of Tim Moye transmissions:
17414 US Highway 41 N Lutz, FL 33549-4570 - (813) 909-8337
The shop has been in business for decades. Tim took the business over from his dad. They have an excellent reputation in the community and is well known among the performance crowd
He's quick, reliable, and stands behind his work! I know this from 1st hand experience
He even calls you later on at various intervals (or sends cards) to check on the status of his work.
He's like the Greg/Tracy of the transmission world
The best in the area IMO.
Gordon

Heck, I still don't know which is closer to me, Dunellon or Dunedin. My mom was doing an art show with a friend in one of the two (the furtherest one, of course) and Connie and I said we would meet her there. We were thinking about the closest one, and only allocated 3 hours for the drive. Of course we got there VERY late that day.

Unless you know transmissions, I'd say that's a good idea
(not to mention the potential removal and re-install)
Let me know if you need anything. I'm right here on Ehrlich Road and the Veterans.

Sounds like just the tailshaft bushing is wore. No need to pull the tranny (as long as all else works fine) any good shop with a tailshaft bushing puller can pull it, install a new one, and a new seal.
