alignment C6

The subject is front end alignment. I have had my 2007 aligned at Goodyear but noticed excessive tire wear (outside right front tire) so I had the dealer do another alignment. 5000 miles later the left front inside tire is down to the core. Does someone have a recommendation for a qualified (expert?) alignment shop in Jacksonville.

I've noticed that after having my C6 Z06 realigned at the local dealership that it just doesn't handle as well as it did before. Took it back and had it re-checked and it was within specs, but I'm still not all that happy with the way the car feels now. Figure when it comes time to get new tires on the car, I'll see about looking up a guy someone here recommended to me for the alignment.

BTW, I'm going to move this thread to a more appropriate forum for this sort of discussion.

Are you really going to be willing to drive to Thomasville, GA just to get an alignment?

I don't know anyone in Jax, but as far as Tallahassee goes I 've been taking my vehicles to Sirmon's Alignment since the 80's. They can even align Semi Tractors. And they are honest. I've never had them try to sell me something I didn't need. A lot of the car dealers in Tallahassee use them.

I took my cars to them even when I worked for the Chevy dealer. I had a '97 Chevy Suburban that had a vibration at highway speeds that the dealer couldn't fix. I bought a new set of tires and they balanced them three times and couldn't solve the issue. John Sirmon took it for a ride and came back, jacked up the left rear and removed the tire. He had his son get in it and put in drive(non-posi rear-end) and ran it up to 70 mph and the axle started jumping like crazy. Turns out someone had replaced the brake drum on that side before I bought it and replaced it with a cheap brand made in China that was WAY out of round!

I'll have to keep that in mind when I replace the tires on the C6Z.

Thanks!

If you call ahead and let them know you're coming from Wakulla they'll try to get you in right away so you don't have a long wait. Really nice folks.

OK. I've got their phone number and address printed out and will keep that in mind.
