Default Short Drive to Sarasota // Oops Link Added

This morning Vicki wanted to take a trip to Siesta Key Beach, so off we went.
I have never seen this beach with so few people.

After we arrived I found out Vicki just wanted some sand, I drove the Vette to haul sand

On the way back through downtown Sarasota we stop and looked at the art show (All Statues) around the Marina

I've never seen a portable dock before, I guess you can tow it with you.

Drove home up Longboat Key to Anna Maria Island. Stooped by to see the reconditioned Bridge Street Pier. They put a new restaurant in and boat parking. All they did to the pier itself was a coat of paint on the railings. I guess you can't expect much anymore for a couple of million.
The restaurant is operated by the people who have Rotten Ralph's on the north end this one uses the same name. Hope it's better then the original.
A pic for Shadow

Leaving the island

Follow the link if you want see a few more pics of the drive . I have all the statues for the art lovers.

There's even a statue I believe Rob will like...

Thanks

Anna Maria Island is a pretty nice place. Wouldn't mind trying to squeeze in a few vacation days there some year.

This was a statue from two years ago. My daughter took these at sunset. Everyone wanted it to stay as a permanent fixture, but it's gone...

I love Siesta Key as well. Thanks for the pic of the police boat
