Winter's last gasp?

Had a hellacious storm come through north Florida last night. All kinds of tree limbs down this morning. Knocked out one of my battery backups for the computer gear.

Tonight it's supposed to drop down to the upper 30s. It's right around 58 degrees right now. By early next week the highs will be in the lower 90s.... :crazy03:

I'm thinking this is it for winter this year.

We've really had some pretty nice days here on the beach with temps in the
70's , 80's.

Last year it seemed like winter would never end. This was more like it.:dancer01:

Last week i had 8.5" of rain from Mon till Thurs and then about a 1" this last Tuse.

Looks like what i call true hell for 5 months is not far off.

I drove from Dunedin down to Venice on Thursday March 31st in that friggin MONSOON! Crossed the sunshine skyway bridge 45 minutes after they had measured wind speeds of 88 MPH at the north tower. Get the Vette up to 60 MPH and could feel it start to hydroplane, so back down to 55. Can't see crap beyond about 60 or 70 feet, then get passed by a semi doing 70 or so, THEN I can't even see the front of the Vette. Ran out of rain at exit 220 on 75 and made it to Venice in a little over 2 hours. Thought it might clear out while we were having lunch with our friends at "The Crow's Nest" (nice place...by the way), but ran into the rain at exit 220 (again) coming north. My wife didn't want to go across the bridge again, so we stayed on 75 and got off at Fowler to cross back to Dunedin. I'm beginning to think I prefer snow to that monsoon crap. At least. with snow, you don't get soaked to the skin when you have to get out of the car for gas or bio-breaks. I told my wife that I hadn't seen rain like that since I went thru monsoon season in Vietnam. DAMN it was coming down in buckets.....

Yeah, I've noticed that the weather conditions around here can sometimes be generalized as "Drought conditions, with widely scattered flooding". :hehehe:
