it's common with semi-metallic pads in general. when it rains, the rotors will surface rust overnight and so will the metal in the pads. should work itself out. ceramic pads have copper in them. so no rust.
These are standard brakes. Car never driven in rain- very dry last few weeks- after 5-10 mins of driving, brakes squeal on every stop. Dealer put copper coating on pads but no difference- still squeal. Any ideas? Thx!
Quality brake pads and rotors shouldn't squeal. For the amount of money you paid for that car, it's not at all unreasonable to expect that you wouldn't have this sort of problem. And to me, the argument "they all do that" just doesn't wash.
