Man, I do LIKE this new color. I think it will be called Cyber Gray Metallic.....

On one hand I'm disappointed with this new ZR1, but on the other hand I find myself attracted to it. $100+K is a LOT of money, though. And we all know how risky it can be the be the first on the block with something new from GM. The first year or two of production is really akin to a final beta test on new designs and features. There are a LOT of new designs in this car that haven't gone through the test of time on the street. But since the rumor is that this will only be a two year production run, if you want to get one, you just might need to be prepared to accept the arrows in the back that come with being a pioneer.

Plus I'm thinking this could be an expensive car to maintain. I'm pretty sure the extended warranty will not cover such things as brake pads, rotors, clutch and shock absorbers, which all all going to be rather big ticket items on this car. I've heard some big dollar figures thrown about concerning those ceramic rotors, so if you have to replace them on your dime, it might hurt a bit.

Heck, even paying sales tax on that purchase would gripe my butt. :banghead: There are a LOT better things I would like to spend $7K on rather than just giving it to the governor for allowing me to buy a car here.

Hi Rich, One of our neighbors said he's going to get one. He told me he's selling his 81 and his 87 Vette to make room for it. I don't know what he's asking for either one of them, but the 81 is a Pro Street with a blown, injected 383, although he has a big block for it on an engine stand. The 87 is mildly customized with a ZR1 body and lowered, custom nose. Not sure, but I think the engine is stock. Beautiful paint on both. He has a lot of "toys" in his garage.

Yeah, that would be one of my problems as well. Room. I'm not about to get rid of the C5Z nor the C6. Connie's not about to give up her Z71 Silverado. And the van comes in real handy. The carport only holds two vehicles and I'm surprised Connie gave up the spot for the truck to put the C6 in there.

This might be the biggest hurdle of all............. :shrug01:

See if you can get that guy to visit us here. I'd like to hear about those toys of his. Especially if he gets the ZR1.

Content with my 2005...Waiting to see what the C7 is going to look like...

Hell, I'm content with my 87!:rofl1:

I would like to see what your nighbors lowered, custom nosed 87 looks like though:thumbsup:

The ZR1? Nah, I'll pass:wavey:

Use the $$ to travel and retire and be happy with what I have or maybe one day a new(er) C6:thumbsup:

Yeah..... No way I'm getting rid of the C5Z, and I doubt the ZR1 would give me much more thrills than that car already does. Maybe getting a built motor with strengthened drivetrain and a new paint job would be money better spent. But heck, truth be known, when those turbos kick in NOW, I feel like I have a tiger by the tail as it is....... :hehehe:

Although I think it's a beautiful car, I'll pass!
Like others have stated, I'll spend my $ on other things (like Mods:hehehe:) and trips.
I'm just grateful to have my C6 :dancer01:.

I'll have to introduce you to Jerry, Rich. He's very busy though, hard to get up with him sometimes. He also has an 02 Z06 that is a daily driver. You may have seen it, it's silver. He does all his own mods and paint, very talented man.

I'm pretty happy with my C5Z. If I had extra money laying around it'd probably go toward either an '08 Z51 C6 or a C6Z. But even those aren't in my immediate future. The ZR1 would be cool but I couldn't really justify spending 100k on bragging rights.

Wonder how long it will take for GM to offer the LS9 as a crate engine offering? From the specs, it's a pretty solid piece of machinery. Has all the goodies build inside.

I love my 07 vert. Really though, other than bragging rights or racing, how much power do you really need to enjoy the vette? It's a beautiful car right out of the box. Now of course if I had the big monopoly money, then supercharger or twin turbos with methyl injection would be in my Christmas stocking. But then I would be living alone because my bride would kick my arse out of the house. That ZR1 sure does look nice except for the clear bubble on the hood :shrug01:

Yeah, that would be great! Maybe we could all cruise to some function some day. At the very least, maybe up to the What-A-Burger on the third Saturday of the month for a cruise in with Cruisin Corvettes. We could be the Crawfordville contingent. :hehehe:

I'm gonna buy one.......since I'm going to win the lotto about two weeks before the release date of the ZR1, I'll make sure to preorder it. It'll look great next to my C5, my Trans Am, and my newly acquired R34 Nissan Skyilne and Ferrari F430.

Well, when you win, remember all your good buddies here......

Absolutely!!!!!!! You guys will be the second ones to get a picture of me standing in front of the ZR1 with the two strippers on the hood!!!!!!:waveyd:
And yes, I will make them take of their high heels before climbing on.:hehehe:

However, you'll be the first ones to get the invite to crash the Cavalino Show at the Breakers!!!!!:usa_flag:

Did I also mention I was going to build a sixteen car garage with 72" LCD, four la-z-boys, a pool table, a humidor, a urinal and a stage with a stripper pole and disco ball?:notworthy:

Looking to adopt?:rofl1:

I'll be getting one if I can get it for sticker or slightly above. got my z from Indiana at sticker at the height of the fury. just hope the c7 doesn't come too quickly with too much power to upstage my zr-1. upgraded interior will be in my future as well!
