Hurricane Florence, 2018
Hmm, not been watching this one too closely, as it was originally forecast to graze the Outer Banks area in North Carolina. But now it appears today that the forecast track has moved further south than first predicted.
Might be worth keeping an eye on this one, as it is predicted to reach major hurricane status by Monday.

Probably not, but you never know with these things.
Of course, Connie and I had been talking about taking a drive up to Calabash, NC, so it appears we doomed them.

The Ventusky models are predicting Florence will swing up into Cape Hatteras and basically park there for several days. Probably wouldn't be a good time to take a vacation up that way. I told Connie she might even want to warn her family up in Delaware that things are likely going to get messy up there.

Never worried that much about hurricanes when I owned a place in the Orlando area but have moved to Ft Myers .I watch the National Hurricane Center for the latest storms forming off Africa .
GM Junkie doesn't come on this forum often but his home in Old Fort NC is in the path .Junkie besides being a great Corvette mechanic raises bee's .I hope all the little honey makers have life jackets .

Looks like next week, Isaac might become a problem for the Gulf of Mexico states, and one of the Ventusky models is predicting an as yet unnamed hurricane to blow up in the Atlantic and follow pretty much in Florence's footsteps.
Well, this IS the peak of hurricane season.....

Yeah, we killed Calabash by talking about going there. We seem to have this power.... Earlier in the year we were planning a trip to Colorado. Oh yeah, fires......
