DETROIT — With all the improvements coming on the 2012 Chevrolet Corvette, did you really think you'd pay less money?

Chevy hasn't announced official pricing yet, but Atlantic City dealer Kerbeck Corvette, posting on fansite CorvetteBlogger.com, has revealed what GM hasn't: New higher stickers for the 2012 Corvette range, with the year-to-year hikes ranging from $505 to $1,250, depending on the model.

To cite several examples, the basic Corvette Coupe rises from $49,995 to $50,500 (all prices include shipping, which rises by $25 to $975), while the Corvette Convertible climbs from $54,995 to $55,500. The Corvette Grand Sport Coupe jumps from $55,995 to $56,900, while the Corvette Grand Sport Convertible increases from $59,995 to $60,500. The Corvette Z06 hardtop goes from $75,325 to $76,500, while the range-topping Corvette ZR1 is bumped from $111,250 to $112,500.

Among the pricier options for 2012 are the Z06 Ultimate Performance package ($7,500), the Centennial Special Edition ($4,950), the Z06 Carbon Fiber package ($3,995) and Z06 Magnetic Selective Ride Control ($2,495).

The ZR1 Performance package is priced at $1,495 and the Grand Sport Heritage package, $1,195. Chrome aluminum wheels are $1,995 on the Z06 and Grand Sport, $2,000 on the ZR1 and $1,850 on the standard coupe and convertible.

Does'nt surprise me...they have been sticking it to us for years now but at least the sales numbers have been showing a decline meaning that some are not taking it anymore...

I don't know what it is like in your area, but it's actually gotten quite rare to see another Corvette on the road in this area. It's not at all unusual to be up in Tallahassee all day long and not even see one vette on the road.

Heck, even driving out to Destin, we may see only two or three the entire time.

:shrug01:

But heck, I haven't had the vettes out much myself, so maybe people are just leaving them in the garage and driving something else most of the time. Would have been pretty tough to fit the pressure washer I bought yesterday into one of them... :hehehe:

Wow, I can barely throw a rock around here and not hit a vette (so I don't throw rocks). Lots of C4s lately, but still plenty of C6s...funny thing is, the C6's are 90% women drivers.

When I had mine, I saw more women in C6s and men in C5s. Even at the hospital I work at, there are two nurses who park in the garage driving C6 droptops. Theyre not even RN's.C6s are now being found for what some C5Z owners are asking...just a hit an miss kinda deal.

I see quite a few 'vettes in town here. I'm sure gas prices have had some effect on peoples driving habits but not as much as I would have thought.

Drove up to Thomasville, GA today. Saw two vettes the entire time. Both yellow. One a C5 and the other a C6.

C6's yes, but how many drive Z06, or Zr1's, probably none I would think...:shrug01:

I drive from Lutz to Tampa every day (my vette sees work a couple of days a week) and I see at least 4 to 6 on my ride.
You are right and I agree that you see more women than men in C6's. Most of the guys (like me) drive a C5. Don't know why that is but it is.

In my area, I see atleast half dozens on the road every day...Mostly C5's & C6's...With a Z06 thrown in amongst them...
