GPS

OK my progressive brothers and sisters. Carrie and I just bought a TOMTOM, OMG! This thingy tells me, not only, where to go but makes we want to go there. How confussing is that? Wow, heck maps are out of date, map quest is out of date and now I have John Cleese telling me to turn right or left.

Damn it's about time I guess. You guys have been just plugging in and going for a while haven't ya?

Ya gotta remember C3's are a little slow to roar into the sunlight.

WOW I am impressed:lmao:

Lowrance 250C

I was recommended this unit by a club member that does a lot of boating and he likes this one 'cause he can put in boating charts with a switch of the flash card. PLUS it was only $179 on E-Bay! Star and I bought it right before taking our trip in September. I admit I'm a gadget freak but she suggested it. We love it! Plus it's got a really cute female voice; I named her "Gidget". Gadget/Gidget? oh well consider the source....Also you can downloard updates from the website. The one we bought has a 2005 map in it and the update is 2007. The way they are coming down in price, I would wait until after Christmas and I bet they will soon be under $100!

My next door neighbor took it's window adapter and welded it up to fit in our C-5 ashtry. Really neat if anyone would want to get one, let me know.

Heck, I've been using a GPS antenna for my laptop for years now. Interfaces with the DeLorme Street Atlas program by plugging into a USB port.

For any trip outside of the local driving area, we don't leave home without it.

I have both the USB GPS for Microsoft Streets and a Garmin 340.

It is very hard to be without either one.

I actually had to look for street one day and thought "How primitive!"

My son bought me the laptop garmin for christmas. I love it. now if I could just get my computer back from him:rofl1:

I think I'm gonna get a Tom Tom or Garmin for the car thats transferable from vehicle to vehicle:thumbsup:

Ok Ken, you're leading to St. Augustine:thumbsup:

I don't need a GPS. When I need directions, I just keep stopping at service stations until I find someone who speaks english and can give me directions. Of course, sometimes that is impossible and I just turn around and go home :rofl1::lmao::lmao:

Don't you know that REAL men don't ask for directions? :lmao:

My mother told me to just keep making right hand turns and I wouldn't get lost. :rofl1: If that failed, I was suppose to ask a nice policeman for directions.......

Ken, I've got a Magellan Roadmate 3000, and you're right........they're awesome! I like the fact that you can take it from car to car. Once in a great while, they can be a pain in the ass when they can't find a street that you KNOW is there, but all in all I've gotten to the point where I'm addicted to the suckah, and don't even want to bother with maps anymore. The older I get, the worse my eyes get (harder to read maps!), and the more I need the little voice telling me where to go. NO YOU PERVERTS.......I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT MY WIFE DAMMIT!:lmao: And the upside to getting a GPS is that you get to name it! Ours is Marge, let us know when you pick a name for yours.
Andy :wavey:

OK I just gave Carrie the awesome responsibility of Naming the GPS and I agree it's just bloody awesome as John Cleese would say.
