"In" comes from the evaporator or condenser?.. I am changing my system out to a more modern system but I have to learn with each step I take.

Any help?:shrug01:

Hey Ken, call Ron, Corvette Interiors (the guy I introduced u to that is replacing the interior on my '82).

He is also replacing the dryer/evaporator, the compressor and clutch and orifice tube. He knows quite a bit about A/C.

Good luck brother!!

Refresh my memory here!
Dose yours have a POA Valve and Expansion Valve,or is it a Orifice Tube type??

I think it's the first one,but I can't remember what year they changed it to the latter!

Makin progress.......

Expansion valve final came out. At this point I have zero doubt that 38 years worth of corrosion in the A/C system and gawd knows how much corriosion in me is making for an interesting project.

The last three days have been spent on trying to remove the original POA valve.
Used Blaster, heat, off set wrenches and every idea I could find. Finally, just a few minutes ago I got the top nut to break free and back out. Very unfortunately it also took a dremel tool, cut off discs and a cold steel chisel to remove enough material to allow removal. As Shadow would say "just dayum" (or something like that).

Only one brass nut (no NASAjack I'm not talking about you) to go get and I can do a final flush of evaporator and hoses and I can begin installing the updated system.

No Andy no pics thus far 'cause just saying she's a hell of a mess is an understatement.

It appears I'll have to remove the side lovers to get to the lower POA nut but such is life. Ya know I'll bet just getting all the crap flushed out of the system will improve the A/C system bunches. Now if I can just find the cause of the no high speed on the blower fan I'll be a happy camper .
