Another safe Shuttle launch

The Space Shuttle just did their first night launch since 2006. I wanted to see it live but the trees in my neighborhood were in the way so I saw it on the live NASA webcast. I swear I gotta go to Titusville to see it in person soon before they scrap the Shuttles to build something new.

It was the first shuttle launch in darkness since 2006; only a quarter of all shuttle flights have begun at nighttime.

Awesome

I went over years ago to witness a night shot. All I can say is WOW! I parked in a restaurant parking lot and walked across the street to a pier (with about 100 other people) and waited and waited. If you ever go bring a radio! Luckly someone had one so we could hear the countdown. As it rose the light from the flames lit up the sky; bright enough you could have read a newspaper! The neat part was, you could see the "shock" wave come across the water and then the sound hit! I still get chills just telling it! :cool3:

Man, I would love to see that in person......... But it would have to be pure luck that I would be there when it happened, I guess.
