As gas prices soar, thieves grow more brazen

I can't say that I'm surprised. I also will not be surprised to see the number of shootings go up. Both from people stealing gas, and those trying to prevent theft.:nonod:

Yeah... Let the perpetrator get about 50 feet away from your car, then hit the gas can in his hand with a tracer round from your rifle..... :reddevil:

That's nothing new. I remember people selling black market gas on Hialeah street corners years back.

You'd pull up to the truck which looked like a lunch truck. Gave the dude whatever he was asking for for whatever amount and he'd pump it in. This was done with stolen credit or fraudulent cards usually. This was when gas had spiked to about $2 a gallon which was years ago. I can only imagine now..........

It's only going to get worse:(

I don't have much in the way of sympathy for retailers that do not require pre-payment or a Credit/Debit card at the pump. That has been the norm for many years. Those to cheap or lazy to make the necessary investment get what they deserve. As Ron White says, you can't fix stupid!

I can see security escorts becoming a potential business opportunity in the future if this continues to spiral.

Finally, you can only push people so far. At some point, anyone (yes anyone) will break. Most fortunately much later than others. The criminal element as in this case will alway sieze the opportunity to focus on the weak.

Those that might not have been willing to purchase stolen fuel in the past might out of necessity, be willing now:(

Our country has let itself get out of control:(

The good news? It's job security for law enforcement:thumbsup:
